This Thanksgiving, we celebrate how Lakeview Camp has long been a place where students meet Jesus, just ask Hannah Graham.

Every November, we pause to give thanks for the lives changed at Lakeview. For Hannah Graham, those summer days as a camper were more than fun, they were the beginning of her calling to ministry.

Hannah grew up as a church kid, attending North Texas Assemblies of God Youth & Kids Camps since she was six years old. Raised in a Christian household, her parents always made it a priority that the family was involved in their local church. “I didn’t have much of an option, but even after the first year, I wanted to go!”. Hannah remembers with a smile, “For as long as I can remember, camp has been my favorite place on the planet, and now going as a leader, it still remains my favorite place.”

At fifteen, Hannah received her call to ministry in a moment she’ll never forget. “I was sitting in the back of the Dubose auditorium after our last night of camp. I was looking at all the empty chairs, and I just remember the Lord speaking to me saying, ‘Hannah, you are going to do this one day,’ and I knew it was ministry.”

Today, Hannah serves, Wake Youth, at Thousand Hills Church in Hickory Creek, Texas. That encounter with God, shapes everything she does. “One of the biggest focuses I have is intentionality with the students, because of the intentional call that God gave me. I want students to see how intentional God is, and that his plans are much better than our own.”

Now attending as a leader with her students, Hannah finds those worship moments particularly meaningful. “It is some of the most rewarding moments in youth ministry seeing students seek after God with their whole hearts.”

This November, we celebrate stories like Hannah’s that remind us: Lakeview Camp has been a place where kids and youth fall in love with Jesus and receive their calls into ministry. We’re thankful for every moment, every tradition, and every heart transformed.

Because what happens here changes the world.
