As the year came to a close, the Lakeview leadership team attended the annual Christian Camp and Conference Association (CCCA) Convention, “Go With Me,” held Dec. 8–11 in New Orleans. The annual gathering provided time for learning, connection and spiritual renewal, and this year’s convention proved especially meaningful for the team.
From the outset, the convention schedule was full of purposeful experiences. The team participated in professional development seminars focused on strengthening leadership, refining operational excellence and exploring creative approaches to ministry.
Each session offered practical tools and insights the team plans to bring back to Lakeview as programs continue to grow with intention.
Throughout the week, times of worship and fellowship were woven into the convention experience. Gathering with camp leaders and ministry partners from across the country created a sense of unity and encouragement. Shared worship reinforced the importance of faith, community and service within camp and conference ministry.
The convention also included a comprehensive Expo, where attendees explored new resources, connected with vendors and learned about innovative solutions that support camp operations. Guest speakers addressed themes of faith, leadership and perseverance, while awards recognition highlighted excellence within the broader CCCA community.
The event took place in New Orleans, where the city’s culture added to the experience. From beignets and Creole cuisine to live jazz, the setting offered moments of enjoyment outside the convention schedule.
This year marked Lakeview’s 8th consecutive year attending the National CCCA Convention. Networking and idea sharing with fellow camp leaders remains one of the most valuable aspects of the event. The team returned refreshed and prepared to carry new insights into the year ahead.
